Ceba Solutions Ltd were asked to refurbish an existing commercial kitchen at The Grosvenor Estates Building in London.
The prestigious building is situated in the middle of Mayfair, spread over five floors. The Kitchen is on the 5th floor, and we were also asked to create a new pantry from an existing storeroom on the ground floor.
The first challenge we experienced was the size of the kitchen we had to redesign. There was a list of points that were raised during a previous local authority visit and we needed to ensure the points were all covered and rectified during the design process. Our next challenge was presented to us in the form of the pantry design. The design was to be based on an exits facility, however, we were provided more space to offer more storage solutions. Ceba Solutions needed to ensure that we could provide the necessary spaces and equipment to deliver the full menu offer, we achieved this by consulting with all relevant parties.
Ceba Solutions worked closely with the catering team to achieve a modern, functional space within their guidelines. We designed a new fresh commercial kitchen layout utilising the space fully allowing us to achieve maximum tabling space, storage and increased cooking capability. A new extraction canopy and fan system were also installed to meet current legislation. Ceba Solutions was responsible for for the full strip out of equipment, walls, floors and associated redundant services. We used Whiteroc to cover the walls and a new non-slip floor was installed.
How it was achieved
Ceba Solutions were the Principle Contractor on this project. Ceba’s project management team managed the program, meaning regular site visits prior to installation and provide onsite support during the installation process. The team also engaged with our service partners to fabricate the tabling to our design, incorporating the following equipment:
