Basingstoke Golf Club
The Goal
To install a fully functional back of house area alongside a front of house bar and events service hatch for the Clubhouse.
The Brief
The new Clubhouse was rebuilt in 2024 with a focus on expanding and enhancing the previous facilities. As part of our brief, we were tasked with designing and creating a kitchen capable of accommodating events for up to 100 guests, and this included a separate counter within the function space to enable efficient, segregated service during events. The client also requested the installation of a new front-of-house bar, designed with a focus on functional layout complemented by warm, classic aesthetics.

The Outcome
The completed site met all expectations, delivering a fully functional back-of-house area comprising a cook suite, preparation zones, separate dry stores, cold room and freezer room, a dishwash section, and a dedicated pass with quick access to the event servery counter.
The front-of-house area reflected the same level of detail on a smaller scale, featuring both front and back counters designed and supplied to meet a wide range of requirements — from serving coffees on a weekday afternoon to supporting a private event on a Saturday evening. Thoughtfully integrated front-of-house storage, both sophisticated and practical, further elevated the design and complemented the overall look and feel of the space.
A key element of the design process involved close collaboration with the architects, Feilden+Mawson. Together we refined every detail, from planning precise ventilation locations to selecting finishes that would enhance and unify the space. This partnership ensured we delivered a design that not only looked exceptional but also met the club’s unique operational needs.
