Co-Educational Private School
The Goal
A complete dining room interior decoration refresh including restaurant counters and cosy teachers’ lounge.
The Brief
The brief was to give the school restaurant a fresh new look and feel, as the space was starting to feel bland and outdated. Using the existing counters and interior features, we carried out a refurbishment to create a quirky, mid-century modern-inspired environment that celebrates the character of the building fabric.
- Location – Fife, Scotland
- Sector – Education
- Suppliers – Square One, Innerspace Cheshire, Custom Neon
The Outcome
The refurbishment introduces a refreshed colour and material palette, bringing new energy to the school restaurant. Mustard yellow herringbone tiles add a bold, cheerful rhythm, while timber acoustic slat panelling provides warmth, texture, and improved sound quality. Biophilic elements, including preserved plants, moss walls, and layered greenery, soften the architecture and create a vibrant, natural backdrop. Playful neon signage adds quirky highlights and visual interest throughout the space. Together, these features create a warmer, more welcoming, and engaging environment for students.
The dedicated teachers’ nook offers a contrasting retreat, with deep green tones, subtle gold accents, and layered planting that foster a calm, restorative atmosphere away from the main dining area, giving staff a peaceful space to recharge during the school day.
