The Goal

To deliver a holistic design and installation for a large restaurant and coffee lounge, incorporating multiple diverse food service pods, flexible catering equipment, and convenient self-service drink stations.

The Brief

The client requested a contemporary, highly functional dining and coffee lounge that could comfortably accommodate growing customer numbers and fluctuating daily footfall. The space needed to be adaptable, with the ability to be partially closed off and reconfigured, allowing the large restaurant to operate efficiently during breakfast service and other flexible layouts from the main dining area.

The Outcome

Flexibility remained at the heart of the design. Inspired by vibrant street food courts, the concept introduced multiple food pods offering a variety of menus, including pizza, pasta, and theatre cooking. This approach future-proofs the space, ensuring it can adapt to menu changes and increased capacity over time.
For breakfast operations, innovative rotating counters and concealed sliding glazed doors were implemented, allowing staff to transform the service area quickly and seamlessly. These features enable food to be served efficiently from the dining room side, creating a smooth, adaptable solution that enhances both functionality and the customer experience.
A key design feature of this site was the way each pod was crafted to have its own individual identity while still working cohesively within the wider space. Subtle variations in colour and the direction of the feature timber slats create distinct visual moments, making the environment feel unique, characterful and thoughtfully unified.
